In December, 2006, New version Dynamic Strain Amplifiers were put into sale.

AC Strain amplifier (General purpose Type 5683, High response Type 5684) in 2 types; and DC Strain amplifier (Wide band Type 5693) in one type have been put into sale. These amplifiers can be thrown into a wide range of applications starting from the stress measurements with strain gages and to the combination with the strain gage type transducers. As the disconnection checking functions are now incorporated in theses amplifiers, avoidance from the troubles during measurements can be performed quite easily. These amplifiers are very convenient equipment to be used of course not only as strain and stress measuring instruments but also as the training means for beginners to acquire the principle or technologies of measurement. >>Dynamic Strain Amplifiers

In june 2002, Showa has received an approval as an Accredited Calibration Laboratory in regard to the JCSS "force".

An Accredited Calibration Laboratory is an enterprise who was authorized by the Japanese Minister of Economics and Industry and who is able to conduct calibration works to users in general with the use of the secondary specific reference instrument already calibrated on the basic specific reference instrument. In addition, an authorized entrepreneur can issue a calibration certificate with the JCSS's Logo Mark on it certifying that behaviors of the equipment forwarded for tests are treceable in regard to the national weighing standard. The "JCSS" is the abbreviation from the "Japan Calibration Service System" expressing the traceability servicing system under the law of measurement and the Accredited Calibration Laboratory is solely allowed to issue the certificates headed with the JCSS Logo Mark.

In april 2002, Showa produced out ultra-small torque transducers(1 N•cm ~ 1000 N•cm)

Showa has produced out 2 sorts of unique transducers; one is Model "TP-L" ultra-small capacity torque transducer (non-rotation type) and the other is Model"TP-R" high rigidity and low capacity torque transducer (non-rotation type). Development of ultra-small torque transducers of the strain gage system has heretofore been considered to be difficult but Showa has recently been successful in their attempt in developing these low capacity torque transducers, especially, Model "TP-L" Series, through the adoption of their own original resilient system. >>"TP-L" / Ultra-small capacity torque transducer , >>"TP-R" / High rigidity and low capacity torque transducer

In February 2001, Showa has acquired the certification for the conformity tothe  ISO 9001 Product Quality System.

As a general concept of the quality gurantee, our interpretation is that we can provide this sort of gurantee not only when guranteeing the ratings and performances of the product as an intended "object" but also when we have been successful in sending to the customer products perfectly conforming to his requirement. We have an assortment of a wide range of strain gages and associated strain gage based sensors, for which we are preparing catalogs giving details of ratings and of performances of respective items. Our ultimate aim is however to offer better items figured out through close communications with customers and do utmost to polish them up to the customer's final satisfaction.

On 21 April 2000, Showa has met its 40th Anniversary since its establishment.

We have swiftly met the 40th Anniversary of the Company since the later Mr. Ichiro Ishiyama, the fouder of the Company, started production of foil strain gages for the first time in Japan. Although these foil strain gages did appear at that time to be produced solely for tha purpose of stress analysis in the industrial fields of railways, ocean vessels, aircrafts and so on, foil strain gages are nowadays being used not only for stress measurements but also widely utilized for the applications to measuring sensors or devices in various transducers including load cells. Our intention is to continue also hereafter to do utmost to develop mainly strain gage based sensors which may fully satisfy requirements raised from various fields including reseach and development, production, quality management and control, and so on.

2000/2月 SI単位対応の新しいカタログが出来ました。

新計量法に基づき、「力」、「圧力」、「加速度」等の単位表記を全てSI単位に変更しました。SI単位/新カタログはひずみゲージ及び各種変換器を含めた総合カタログとさせて頂きました。ユーザーの方々でカタログのご要望がございましたらご請求下さい。

2000/1月 JIS B 7728/荷重検定器用ロードセル(等級:0.5 級)の受注を開始しました。

JIS B 7728 は、力計(荷重検定器)について規定しております。力計の種類としては、環状ばね型力計、容積型力計、電気式ロードセルの3種類で大別されておりますが、当社では電気式ロードセルを取り扱っています。電気式ロードセルは、従来の環状ばね型力計や容積型力計に較べ高性能指示装置を用いることにより非常に高分解能で 安定したデータが得られます。尚、詳細は弊社までお問い合わせ下さい。

1999/10月 上下振動不感タイプの超小形ロードセルを開発しました。

WBJ 形/高精度・微小荷重ロードセル (定格:0.2~2N、各種)で好評頂いております シリーズに 、新たに、上下振動不感メカニズムを組み込みましたWBFJ 形ロードセルを開発しました。本ロードセルは、ロードセルの姿勢変化に対する重力や加速度 に影響されませんので、力学的なノイズの影響のない純粋な「力」の検出が可能です。

1999/4月 大容量10MN/引張圧縮形フラットロードセルの製作しました。

一体構造の剪断形起歪体を採用した引張・圧縮形ロードセルSH 形として、定格10MNの大容量にも拘わらず、直線性・ヒステリシスとも±0.2%ROを保証しております。 これまでの10MNクラスの大容量ではロードセル製作するうえで設備・検定等の物理的制約から圧縮専用のものがほとんどでしたが、剪断形スポーク起歪体を採用しているSH形ロードセルでは、引張・圧縮とも既存の荷重検定機で校正が可能となります。

1998/2月 焦点タイプの超小形6分力ロードセルの製作が可能になりました。

構造体に外部から力を与えた場合は、反力を受け持つ仮想中心点に対してX,Y,Z軸の3方向とこの軸まわりの3つのモーメントの6種類の力が発生します。この6つの力を同時に検出できるのが6分力ロードセルと呼んでおります。また、弊社の焦点タイプ6分力ロードセルは、一つの焦点(仮想中心点)を基準に6分力の出力が得られるように設計されていますので、各分力間の干渉が小さく、干渉出力も焦点を基準として直線的に出力されますので非焦点タイプの6分力に比べ複雑なな出力補正が不要となります。
