Semiconductor Strain Gage Transducer Elements Model "AE801" are those having been subjected to a strict and a very careful selection among 800 Series manufactured by AME (AKSJESELSKAPET MICRO-ELEKTRONIKK ) in Norway. These are very unique and highly sensitive transducr elements in converting physical amount of force, pressure, displacement, acceleration, angle and so on into precisely corresponding electrical signals. The transducer-element consists of two main parts,the beam itself and the header to which the beam is mounted. The beam, which is made of single-crystal silicon, has one diffused resister on each side. The resister, which are of the p-type, are manufactured in the same way as transister by the oxide-masking technique. In order to provide a creepfree mounting of the beam, on alloying technique has been developed which join the four pins of the header to contact areas which terminate each resister. Thus the four pins in the header serve both as a mechanical mounting for the beam and electrical connections for the resister. This way of mounting the beam been patented.
